- Reading: prepare 1-13 of Pater et
Filius, p. 374.
- Go through the reading and analyze the
participles (in bold italics) according to the instructions of ex.
29.1
- Make
3 sets of English sentences according to the instructions linked
(includes blanks to fill in).
- following the infinitive review and
consolidation (bottom of p. 376), give all five infinitives of the
verbs on this
sheet (blanks provided); use this opportunity to learn the
infinitives (and practice more until you know them well
- go over grammatic A and the examples of
indirect statement in grammatic B, and come with questions.

active and passive synopsis sheet (based on the exercises on pp.
366-7 but including active forms).
- REALLY Go through the
Perfect
passive practice: flash cards at least three times; the goal is
to get used to the 2-part perfect and pluperfect forms and recognize
them automatically. You can also work these cards the other
way, and form the perfect passive from the dictionary form and the
meaning.
- study the participle review (plus
perfect passive) on pp. 373-376 (but do NOT get into the infinitives
whic hwe will do next time).
- practice forming participles from the
Forming Participles sheet handed out in class
- Prepare lines 1-12 of the Opera Sordida
reading from p. 360.
- THERE ARE NOW DISCE online exercises for
chapters 28 (due Wed. 11:59) and 29 (due Friday at 11:59). Bring any questions to class.

and almost the same but with different words on the back)
- do this without consulting anything as you
write it (i.e. no open book in front of you)
- when you finish 1 page, go back through
with a paradigm and mark where you missed forms
- review (if necessary) with attention to the
missed forms and then fill out the other page of the paradigm
- note where old or new errors occur so you
can mark those for future study
- study all of the vocabulary (Verba
discenda) on p. 315. Not in particular the dictionary forms of
verbs (active and deponent)

perfect form, you come up with the meaning and dictionary
form (or you can run it the other way) This

We are moving on to chapter 22.
For class preparation:
- Make a first pass at the reading on p.
274. Go through teh whole thing but do not try to translate it
completely (unless you want to). Use all available resources
to prepare yourself for the reading, for example, word lists and
cultural awareness questions). Focus on the passive verbs and
who/what the action is "done by."
- Note: ferens, ferentes = carrying
- Study the passive voice on p. 276 and
learn the passive endings. You will notice that in almost
every case, the way you make a present system verb passive is to
simply take off the active ending and stick the passive ending on
instead.
To turn in: there is
work on Mylatinlabs due at 11:59 on Monday, so you will have a chance to
ask about it in class if you have questions.

265. All I want you to do is the progressive reading, but p.
265 may have helpful vocabulary in the verba utenda

phrases, so the more you do, the better for you.
