ACE POTPOURRI

LITERATURE - OF A SORT

Listed according to the ACE Letter-Number series classification. I have separated them according to ACE DOUBLES and ACE SINGLES. Since many of these are difficult to classify (for example - ACE has a subgenre called Gothic - which ranges from the occult to mystery to romance), I have tried to separate out the distinct Mystery and Western titles and placed them in the appropriate pages (see the complete listing of ACE Mystery and Western singles by clicking on the hot links). However, you may still find some that might be in either location (for example, look at the E. R. Burroughs "Mucker" and other series), so please bear with me on this issue.

A very good reference (well-indexed and written) on TV Tie-In volumes (some by ACE ) is by Kurt Peers (1999, 2nd edition) TV Tie-Ins: A bibliography of American TV tie-in paperbacks. TV Books, NY, 364 pp. This volume (paperback) is available from Bibliosession@mindspring.com.

Thanks and have fun!

The relationship of the two women, based strictly on the artwork, is left up to the viewers perception.

This is an odd story - a detective mystery with a bit of supernatural overtones - interesting and quite readable. I have placed it in the Mystery ACE singles section also as I am uncertain as how to classify this volume. I have seen some situations where it was listed under Horror.

There is a tear to the foam core on the far right edge just above middle - which does not affect the main image area. There is paint loss in the following areas; a small chip of the man's forehead and two thin scuffed areas on his lower right arm.

48990 DORIS MILES DISNEY Look Back On Murder (ACE Gothic Mystery)

49560 FRANCES J. S. EDEN The Love Gift (c. 1970, nd; might be 1st thus; ACE Nurse Romance Series)

Nurse stories were common in the D- and F-series of ACE singles. This appears to represent a revival of interest with a special grouping. Note the series title at the top of the cover - "ACE Nurse Romance Series." I believe this was done because of other publishers (e.g. Lance, McFadden. etc.) who also released a number of these nurse-related stories during the late 1960's and early 1970's.
