Kelli Davis-Hendrix is a graduate student in Dr. Grove’s lab. She works full-time for Duke Energy while also working on her M.S. in Chemistry. Currently, she researches what causes someone to engage or not engage in science as a career choice. Her expected graduation date is May 2015.
Patrick Duffy is a graduate student in Dr. Grove’s lab. After doing his B.S. in Chemistry at UNCW, he decided to come back for a few more years as his research interests had shifted from organic synthesis to chemical education. He is currently looking at how chemical representations affect cognitive load felt by undergraduate chemistry students.
Kristina Mazzarone graduated from UNCW in 2013 with a M.S. in Chemistry. Her thesis research involved better understanding the epistemological development of chemistry students. She is currently an instructor of chemistry at Cape Fear Community College.
Ryan Balok is a sophomore chemistry major graduating in May 2017. He is currently working on a project involving Lewis structures and the cognitive load capacity of students. He is currently working on his B.S. in Chemistry and hopes to eventually attend medical school and practice as a physician.
Amelia Coleman is a sophomore chemistry major graduating in May 2017. She is currently working on a project involving Lewis structures and the cognitive load capacity of students. She is currently working on her B.S. in Chemistry and has a great interest in architecture and art.

Jessica Tiettmeyer is a senior chemistry major graduating in May 2015. She is currently working on a project entitled, "Researching Chemistry Students’ Perspectives on the Validity of Summative Assessments," which focuses on how students respond to differently formatted exam questions. She is currently working on her B.S. in Chemistry and hopes to become an educational director of a science museum.
