PSY 217. Learning and Behavior Change (3) Prerequisite: PSY 105. Basic principles of conditioning, learning and behavior change. Topics will include an introduction to classical and operant conditioning and the application of experimentally discovered principles to psychological interventions, as well as other fields such as education, business and health.

PSY 317. Applied Behavioral Analysis (3) Prerequisite: PSY 217. Extension of the principles of learning and behavior analysis to socially significant human issues, including the assessment and treatment of behavior problems, skill acquisition, verbal behavior, and ethical considerations. Areas of application include education, developmental and intellectual disabilities, geriatrics, and caregiver training.

PSY 518. Applied Behavior Analysis (3) Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. An examination of the methodological, empirical, and conceptual issues involved in the extension of behavior analytic principles to applied settings. Topics include a review of basic principles in behavior analysis, issues of behavioral measurement, functional analysis of behavior, design and implementation of contingency management programs and evaluation of behavioral programs.
