Latin 101

Welcome to Latin 101.  Our goal this semester is to learn the fundamentals of the Latin language through studying ancient natural history.  Our topics range from day to day objects, to farm life, to animals and gladiatorial games, to the nature of the universe, to ocean life.  We'll take a hands-on approach with lots of active work in the language, and we'll look for links between ancient knowledge and its modern uses.

Syllabus outlines the goals and requirements for this class, along with exam dates.

Assignments is where to go to get each day's work.  Assignments are not on a set syllabus, to allow us flexibility in how we appraoch the material.  I will give the next day's assignment in class, but if you miss it or have questions, the site will clear them up.  The assignments for the next class will be posed by 4:00 pm on the day of the last class -- if you don't find the assignment, call me and let me know so I can correct the situation!  Also, check this page for information about quizzes.

Paradigms gives charts of important informations such as noun and verb endings: good for study tables.
