Your Prep for 2/8/00: Quiz: First and Second declension forms. I will give you a noun of each type and ask you to write out the forms. For interactive practice, go here, or check out the explanations in our Class Notes for non-interactive explanation. Reading: p. 19, lines 20-34. If you want, send me 8-10 lines of this as part of your email translation requirement, any time before class Thursday. Also, answer the questions on page 21 about the reading on pp. 20-21. Note: I will start off by asking if anyone has questions about the reading. If you do, speak up! The whole point is so that we can work out the complex issues together in a way that helps with future translations. I hate putting people on the spot with translations they're not sure of, so ask! If you ask about it, everybody benefits. Study the pluperfect tense. You will notice that this is just the perfect stems plus the past tense of sum. Not too bad . . . For practice, go the OLC Interactive Site and do drill 19 b. We'll go over this in class. We will also do drill e on using the tenses.
