DOROTHY ENID EDEN (1912-1982) was a novelist and short story writer. Born in New Zealand, she later moved to England in 1954. She wrote under the pseudonyms Dorothy Eden and Mary Paradise, often in the historical, suspense, and Gothic genres as well as contributions to magazines such as Redbook and Good Housekeeping.

FORREST J. ACKERMAN (1916-2008) was a long-time science fiction fan, editor, and agent who was uniquely famous for being a fan and collector. "Forry" received the first Hugo presented, as '#1 Fan Personality' in 1953. In addition, he coined and popularized (alas) the term 'sci-fi' from 1954; edited Famous Monsters of Filmland for 25 years from 1958; popularized the "Perry Rhodan" series in the United States, and was lavishly supportive to generations of fans in both America and Britain.

Hans Holzer was an Austrian-American author and parapsychologist. He wrote more than 120 books on supernatural and occult subjects for the popular market as well as several plays, musicals, films, and documentaries, and hosted a television show, Ghost Hunter. Here is a 1963 press photograph, pre-release for the Bobbs-Merrill Company, Inc. hardback edition of Ghost Hunter.
