Research Methods Links
This is not a comprehensive set of links, or even the best that is on the web. It is a starting point from which you can link to other sites and find what you are looking for. Ideally, you'll want to conduct refined searches on your own through search engines such as Google and others. Email me with any dead links.
Our Textbook Website: Has lots of student help including chapter outlines, links to some of the stuff in the back of each chapter, practice quizzes, etc. Hint: bookmark it and take the practice quizzes at the very least.
The UNCW Writing Center --- good advice on writing papers and good APA style guide basics. Also gives directions on how sign up for a consultation, etc. You also must now set up your appointment online in advance.
Research Methods Knowledge Base --- Great overview site with concise explanations of key concepts and issues. It also contains useful graphics and diagrams to make things clear.
Evaluation Toolkit: very well organized site on applied research for both qualitative and quantitative projects.
Communication Currents --- great examples of the "best of" current research in COM from our top journals. Not the actual journal article but a "popular audience" summary. Read this version then go read the article for help in mastering formal writing.
