Welcome to the Marine Geology Lab at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Our research is focused on continental margin evolution since the last glacial maximum and understanding impacts from sea level fluctuations, climate variability, and tectonics.
Current focuses of the lab include investigations of submerged paleolandscapes and impacts of glacial lake outburst floods on sediment dispersal. We use seafloor mapping tools (multibeam and sidescan sonars), seismic reflection data (Chirp, MCS), and sediment cores to investigate these topics.
We are always looking for new graduate students, so contact Dr. Klotsko to discuss potential projects if you are interested!
