FINALIZED AGENDA

We have a very exciting program lined up for the meeting. We have attempted to keep as much discussion and poster session time as possible open to insure that all participants have the opportunity to present their ideas and contribute to the meeting.  The flash card/discussion group method described in the keynote talks and posters section has been successfully used in previous Penrose meetings including the highly praised September 1998 Ophiolites Penrose meeting in California.  We have selected discussion panelists for each Theme.  Being a discussion panelist requires no special preparation on your part (i.e., slides, etc.).  The main job is to gather up cards on which all of the participants will have written questions based on the overview talks of that session. Along with the other panelists you would then decide which of these questions should be discussed.  You might start the discussion by trying to answer the question yourself or discussing it with another panelist. So the panelists act as catalysts for getting the discussion going and keeping it focussed on specific questions relevant to that session. If the discussion lags, move onto the next question. If you would not like to be a panelist of the discussion group, please let us know.  Also, if you feel the topic of your poster has been placed in the wrong theme session, please let us know what theme you think is more appropriate.
