Zack Seabrease, Research Assistant
AS, 2006, Biology, Sandhills Community College
Zack worked in Dr. Finelli's lab from Summer 2007 through Spring 2008. His work examined predation on larval oysters by adult oysters,
and was presented at the 2008 Undergraduate Research
Symposium sponsored by the UNCW Center for Undergraduate Research and Funding.
He graduated in Spring 2008 and is currently pursuing a degree in Education with a goal of teaching high school science.

Cheston Peterson, Research Assistant Cheston worked in the lab from Summer 2007 through Spring 2008. His work examined the ability of
oyster larvae to avoid being eaten by active suspension feeders, including adult oysters. His work was presented at the 2008 Undergraduate Research
Symposium sponsored by the UNCW Center for Undergraduate Research and Funding. He just finished an internship at the Mote Marine Lab, and is currently
working on an Honors Project in Fisheries Oceanography with Dr. Tom Lankford.

Kelly Woods, Directed Independent Study Kelly completed a project examining oyster recruitment to artificial substrates in response to chemical cues.
She was awarded the Department of Biology and Marine Biology Undergraduate Research Award in Spring 2008 for her excellent work. Kelly graduated in Fall 2008, and is pursuing a career in
marine biology.
