WelcomeMy name is Elham (Ellie). I am an assistant professor at University of North Carolina Wilmington. I have a Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from Clemson University. My career goal is to find new ways to adapt and improve ideas and theories to help underrepresented groups. I am specifically interested in the following two projects serving underrepresented population;
i) assisting people with mental and physical disabilities to explore new ways of coping with a fastpacing environment and ii) introducing new emerging technologies to overcome the lack of resources in the educational system. The current digital age that we are experiencing has a high potential for helping people. In that eight years, I have designed, implemented, and tested several virtual reality systems collaborating with a wide range of expertise from psychology, gerontology, athletic training, data science, and graphic design. My past experiences were mainly focused on understanding how human depth perception alters in virtual reality as well as characterizing the human movement in virtual reality simulations.
