Guideline 3
Gather The Information Your Readers Need

Before beginning any website, you should always research your topic thoroughly, and just because you are creating a website that does not mean that other websites are your best resource for information.  Indeed, books and journals maybe better resources.  The point is to find the best research on your topic and to represent it usefully, persuasively, and accurately, paying attention to pathos, ethos, and logos.

Guideline 4
Ethics Guideline: Respect Intellectual Property And Provide Valid Information

Using Images and Text
When using images and text from websites in your own website check to see if they have a copyright or trademark.  Some items fall within the realm of the public domain, meaning that no one has a copyright on them; you can use them freely without permission.

However, much of what is on the web is copyrighted.  This includes, text, technical drawings, logos, digital photographs, audio files, animations, and videos.  In any case, when using items from another site you should acknowledge your source when something clearly represents someone else's intellectual or creative effort/s.

Posting
Be careful about what you post and where you post it.  The web is a public domain whereby information can be viewed by a number of people from around the world.  Never post personal information or harmful information about other people on the web.
