Guideline 2
Create The Map For A Site That Includes What Your readers Want And Enables Them to Get It Quickly

3 Clicks Away
A user/reader should be able to get where they want to go in no more than 3 clicks of a mouse.  This only works as long as readers do not make a mistake.  If they make a mistake they then seek to get back to a starting point.

Sites should contain "maps" that help readers find information.  Sites should also have menus, home buttons, and other links to help readers get back to a starting point.  One way to find out if your site is usable and readable is to "pilot test" your site with potential users.  Feedback from pilot tests can help you determine how best to refine your site map.
