Course Definitions

Instructions: Using on the course textbook define the following terms using the prescribed definition format. If the format is not followed the assignment will receive a grade of zero.

Chapter 8 Terms

cache, base register, limit register, logical address, physical address, memory-management unit, dynamic loading, static linking (libraries), external fragmentation, paging, hit ration, effective memory access time, segment table

Format for defining terms: Each term should be placed on a separate line using the following format term (pg # of definition) - definition.
Example: bit (6) - the basic unit of computer storage.
