Course Definitions

Instructions: Using on the course textbook define the following terms using the prescribed definition format. If the format is not followed the assignment will receive a grade of zero.

Chapter 3 Terms

process, long-term scheduler, CPU scheduler, I/O bound, CPU bound, job queue, device queue, context swapping, cascading termination, socket, pipe.

Format for defining terms: Each term should be placed on a separate line using the following format term (pg # of definition) - definition.
Example: bit (6) - the basic unit of computer storage.
