Cape Fear Foreign Language Collaborative
First
Meeting September 20 9:00-12:00 UNCW
Lakeside 138 |
Meeting Dates
for 2003-2004:
September 20, November 8, January 24, March 27.
Thanks to all
who contributed and participated in CFFLC last year! We can be proud of our many accomplishments:
our membership was at an all-time high; the programs were great; the
scholarship amounts were raised again for UNCW and HS students; the
scholarship-fundraising raffle was fun and a big success; and we had a
spectacular booth at the Intercultural Festival! And, oh yes, the food and fellowship were tops! This was all possible because of everyone’s
contributions and generosity. Thanks to
all for this support during the year and also to those who met in May to help
plan programs for this year.
Plan now for
September 20: This meeting will feature the
popular SWAP of teachers’ ideas and activities. Please bring an item to share with your
colleagues. Photocopies with pictures, descriptions, instructions,
patterns, rules, etc., are always greatly appreciated. (25-30 copies should be enough.)
Also in
September, Lizzy Pressley will report on her trip to Mexico with Social
Work students this past summer and Denise DiPuccio will introduce plans
for a new initiative in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures.
Future
programs will include presentations on the World Bank (Chuck Sterling), Latinos
in NC (Julie Bordo), teaching with films and television programming (John
Stevens, Kim Eadie, Lizzy Pressley), and illustrated medieval manuscripts
(Terry Mount).
