Last Meeting

March 29

9:00-12:00

UNCW Lakeside 138

January meeting: Many thanks to Melissa Galler, Susan Crampton, and Norma García for their very interesting presentations.

March meeting: We are expecting two informative presentations by Cecilia Escalante, on Costa Rica, and by Miguel Jiménez, on Teaching and Studying in Russia. Miguel will be teaching a Russian course at UNCW in Fall 2003!

The high school scholarship recipient will be announced at this meeting. Thanks to all who nominated high school students and to those on the selection committee.

A survey will be distributed for comments, suggestions and volunteers for planning CFFLC in 2003-2004.

The program will be followed by the fabulously popular Fundraising Raffle for Scholarships. Theresa Hodum and others have been collecting all kinds of items including gift certificates for restaurants and area shops. If you have an article to contribute, bring it on March 29. We are eager to have baked goods, crafts, books, FL teaching materials, plants, gently-used household goods, etc. Used paperback books and other “yard sale” items may be brought for a special table of give-away and “for pennies” items.  If you want to report in advance items to be donated, contact the program coordinator, Joann Mount.

Refreshments committee: Susan Crampton, chair; Kim Eadie, Julie Bordo, Cecilia Escalante.
