Grades that students have received in other colleges and universities are not taken into account in the calculation of the UNCW grade point average.  However, such grades are considered in certain situations, such as students applying to enter the nursing program and seniors graduating with honors and/or distinction.  This is especially important for Spanish students to remember as they undertake a program of study abroad.  While grades transferred from other institutions (such as UNCC for the Spanish Semester in Santander and USFQ for the Ecuador programs) do not affect your overall grade point average, be aware that if you expect/want  to graduate with honors/distinction your grades in the study abroad programs must be good enough to keep you within the GPA range required.
