Conjunctive forms of verbs
(polite forms without ます)

 

 Conjunctive forms of verbs (polite forms without ます) is used instead of using te-forms for verbs to connect to the following sentences.  This happens in cases such as writing a report, giving instructions/directions, or avoid using too many te-forms of verbs continuously.  The key sentences in this section are samples of the later case.

一週間に2回、ボランティアの若い女の人が向かえに来て、バンに 、町内会館に行って、仲間と話をしたり、将棋をしたりしています

去年一浪して、今年東大に合格、生物学を勉強しています。
