WW = Wrong Word choice.  Find a better vocabulary in the sentence.  Use at least a few on-line dictionaries and translation sites to find a correct word for this context.  Please see how the word is used in a sentnece.

WP = Wrong Particle.  Please make a correction in the next or final submission.

MP = Missing Particle or Missing a particle-like letter.   Please use a particle here.

MW = Missing Word or a letter. 

WSp = Wrong Spelling.  Use the Dictionary on the web to find out the correct spelling.  If you cannot find it after trying with the Dictionary, let me know.

WKJ= Wrong Kanji

UKJ = Use Kanji

UKT= Use Katakana

RT = Refer To  (E.g.  RL 202 ch2-2 Nominalizer こと・の means "Refer to JPN 202 main web page and look at the section Nominalizer こと・の in the chapter 2-2.)

GD = Grammar Dictionary

WG = Wrong Grammar

WC = Wrong Conjugation.  Check the grammar and learn the correct form in the structure.

WSS = Wrong SentenceStructure

NE: = Natural Expresstion is:

??? or DNMS = It Does Not Make Sense.  Look up the dictionary and sample sentences and get a help from the instructor.

Oral Quiz Grading Criteria (JPN 201)

 A:  Clearly prepared without a cheat sheet. Speak with good fluency and natural speed (sound like a native).

 B: Clearly prepared (with a cheat sheet*).  Minor errors in grammar and a very few words (not memorized) or a pronunciation/intonation issue.  Some difficulty in using/speaking the structure.

C: Poor performance.  Several words are not memorized. Structures are not spoken with good fluency.

 D: A few words and phrases are spoken but unprepared (or not practiced enough to perform the task).

 F: Not prepared.

* A cheat sheet should contain only words or phrases (not sentences). Verbs have to be in plain forms.  It should not contain grammar structures.
