Discussion Questions

• What are the essential characteristics of Apollo, both of his personality and his powers? How do the two relate to each other?
• What is the nature of prophecy? Does it help or harm humans more often in myth? How do humans gain prophetic ability?
• What are some of Apollo's love affairs? Are they more lor less fortunate than some of the other gods' affairs with mortals?
• Just on a personal note -- I don't know if you think about the Greek gods in tterms of liking them or not but -- do you like Apollo?  I wonder because he is sometimes considered the "most Greek" of the gods.  Just curious . . .
