10 Hour Field Experience Description Grades 6-12
Objectives:
• Relate selected
concepts in learning and child development to physical education instruction
• Reflect on
observation experiences
• Develop 6 point
lesson plans
• Apply
instructional strategies to the teaching of health/PE at the middle/high school
levels
• Identify
personal professional strengths and areas for improvement
Types of
Participation:
• Observing and
assisting public school physical education teacher(s) at different grade levels
(multiple settings desirable)
• Generate a
summary and analysis of the students, learning environment, and learning
outcomes in a the physical education classroom based on the National
Association for Sport and Physical Education Guidelines for Developmentally
Appropriate Practices in the Physical Education Classroom
• Keep a daily
log of interactions in the schools visited
