Fundamentals of Forensic Anthropology
TEST 2 INFORMATION AND STUDY GUIDELINES
1. Overview: The exam, worth 100 points, will consist of 50 multiple choice questions, worth 2 points each. There will be two bonus questions, each worth 2 points (you can earn up to 4 points extra). As stated in the syllabus, if no score is 94 or better, the test will be curved the number of points needed to bring the highest score up to a 94. For example, if the highest score is a 90, there will be a 4 point curve (4 points added to everyone's test score).
2. What to study: Topics and Readings
Laboratory preparation, equipment for bone analyses, basic procedures: Class notes and Burns Chapter 13 pp. 193-199
Sex determination: Class notes; and see some basic examples from a few bones, in Burns--pages by bone:

3. Study tips:
Study according to the topics and readings listed above--see the text and see your notes and use information from both at the same time.
Proceed in small units of study time rather than attempting to study everything in one session. Then, repeat, going over material more lightly just to refresh. Repetition helps make the information known instead of memorized. Remember, there are questions about why and how and not just what.
