G. Robert Weedon, DVM, MPH received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University and his Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He is the senior partner at the College Road Animal Hospital in Wilmington, and is Adjunct Faculty at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Dr. Weedon is the veterinarian representative on the New Hanover County Board of Health, and the Animal Control Services Advisory Committee, and is a volunteer surgeon at New Hanover County Animal Control Services, as well as with Friends of Felines.
During the spring semester, Dr. Weedon teaches two classes at UNCW. HON 120, Animals in Society, which he has taught since 1999, and BIO 485, Animals in Human Society, which he has taught since 2003. Both classes look at the importance of the human-animal relationship and how we are responsible for, and use and exploit, animals. Dr. Weedon is also one of the Faculty Advisors for the UNCW Pre-Veterinary Medical Association. This fall, he will be teaching a new class, Introduction to Epidemiology.
