OFFICE HOURS
My scheduled office hours for the Fall 2001 semester are Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to noon. If these times are not convenient, I will be happy to work around your schedule provided you e-mail (webste@uncwil.edu) or call (962-3756) me in advance to set up an appointment. In addition, feel free to drop in at any time my office door is open unless someone else is already in my office with me. If so, please respect that a student having an appointment with me expects my undivided attention and do not interrupt us. Wait patiently and we'll set up an appointment when that student leaves. Feel free to stop me in the hall or while I'm in the Vertebrate Collections (Friday Hall, Room 303), regardless of what I'm doing. If my office door is closed, I'm probably in a meeting somewhere else on or off campus.
Students sometime complain that I am not available when they need me. Typically, these students come looking for me outside my office hours, without a prior appointment, or they become upset when I am already occupied with another student, preparing for a lecture or lab, preoccupied with another task that demands immediate attention, or honoring some other commitment and not in my office. These other responsibilities do not mean that I am ignoring or avoiding you. I will be happy to give you extra help if you need it. Just ask! Please make an appointment as soon as you perceive a problem is developing.
