worked in Dr. Varadarajan's lab as a DIS student. I synthesized backbone molecules (consisting of a series of
N-methyl pyrrole rings) for the DNA binding/methylating compounds that other
students in the lab are working on.
My main goal was to gain more experience with actual synthesis,
reading chromatograms, and solving chemical problems that arise in any
lab. My interests lie in organic
chemistry and i hope to eventually earn a masters degree and possibly a phD
in that field.
