My
name is Andreas and I had the privilege of working in Sridhar’s lab when he
first started working at UNCW in 2003.
I worked in the lab for one and a half years for my honors research
and am happy to report that I did graduate with honors in chemistry. I also graduated with honors in biology
with research concerning the neural development of jellyfish. Two weeks after graduating in May of 2005,
I married that beautiful woman in the picture (her name is Lauren). After six months of marriage, Lauren and I
found out we were going to have a baby.
Alaina, the other beautiful one in the picture, was born on August 20,
2006 and weighed in at 7lbs 10oz. She
is a very good baby and usually only cries when hungry. My new family and I currently reside in
Apex, NC and with their support I am working in the Department of Surgical
Pathology at the UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. I work as a Histology Technician while
volunteering in the emergency room on Tuesdays and observing surgical
procedures on Wednesdays. Hopefully
all of this hard work and experience will pay off and I will be attending the
School of Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall of 2007 (Pray for me). I thank God for the numerous blessings I
have received since my experience as an undergraduate at UNCW. Hopefully, I will be able to visit from
time to time.
