Oral Communication Competency Requirement: To satisfy the oral communication competency requirement for the B.S. degree in computer science a student must successfully complete CSC 495 or any other approved oral communication intensive course.

CSC 495: Seminar in Computer Science (1)
Prerequisite: Junior or Senior standing and consent of instructor.

Meeting Day, Time, Place:  Monday/Wednesday, 8:30-10:00 a.m., BR206

Course Expectations:  Purpose of this course is to provide the students with practical experience in making oral presentations on technical topics. Each student will be expected to present a 20 minute technical seminar on an assigned topic. The assignment will be made by random drawing on the first day of the class (Wednesday 27) unless you come with an idea in mind that is deemed acceptable. Topics of the seminars have Discrete Mathematics or C++ as the common theme during Summer 2002.  Tentative schedule of seminars along with  list of topics, speakers,  and links to some useful material on the topic appears at Seminar Schedule. In addition, each student will participate in the evaluation of every student’s presentations (including themselves).
