Teaching: I teach courses in sedimentology and sedimentary rocks with an emphasis on terrigenous clastics. At the undergraduate level I teach Principles of Geology (GLY 101) and General Petrology (GLY 310). I also teach the following graduate courses: Sedimentary Environments (GLY 510), Clastic Petrology (GLY 511), and Methods of Sedimentology (GLY 515).

Research: My chief interest is chemistry, provenance, diagenesis, and petrophysical characteristics of sand and sandstone. Recent work has focused on Mesozoic, Tertiary, and Quaternary strata in the southeastern U.S. and Mexico. I also have an interest in the application of sedimentological data for hydrologic modeling of aquifer and confining units.
