HST 573: Education and Interpretation at Museums and Historic Sites

 

The Assignment: As a group, you will create a program plan for a program to teach 40 11^th graders at Duplin County High School how to create and install an exhibition on the 1980s. You will then implement the program.

 

This assignment will require a great deal of team effort. Some tasks will be performed by all members of the class, while other duties will be divided and completed by individuals or small groups.

 

Requirements:

The program must include (but is not limited to):

At least one but not more than three visits to the school.

A web site

An instructional DVD

Instructor lesson plans

Summative evaluation (the method and tools, not the final report)

 

Grading

This assignment is worth 15 points of your final grade and will be graded according to the following:

Program evaluation (4)

Peer Review (4)

Quality and scope of individual contributions to project (4)

Ability to work collaboratively (3)

Peer Review Forms (pdf) for all team members must be filled out and submitted in a sealed envelope on due date.
