SED 370        ED LAB EXPERIENCE AND ASSESSMENT REPORT         Dr. Steele                 

Students in this course will be required to:

1.                  Observe a child in various settings on campus (in schools)

 

2.                  Review available records maintaining confidentiality

           

3.                  Talk with appropriate Ed Lab personnel and parents (teachers)

 

            4.         Administer and score a battery of tests including:

                        a.         Intellectual assessment

                        b.         Reading, early reading, or functional reading test

                        c.         Mathematics, early math, or functional math test

                        d.         Learning skills, adaptive behavior, or behavioral/emotional test

                        e.         Achievement, language, writing, early childhood, occupational or                                              functional skills test  

           

            5.         Construct, administer, and interpret an informal test; specify grade                                           level, content area, and objectives from the standard or adapted course                                  of study

 

6.                  Design and conduct a performance-based assessment of progress; specify goal, objectives, activities, strategies, evaluation, and results

 

7.                  Write a brief letter to parents (teachers) summarizing results and conduct a parent (teacher) conference

 

            8.         Write an assessment report including the following information:

 

name, date, birth date, age, grade

 

list of tests administered

 

background information

 

behavior

 

test results and interpretation

 

discussion of instructional session

 

summary and conclusions

 

recommendations

 

appendix -- tests, informal assessments
