Recommendations:

·       No longer think of high school as a culminating experience

·       High school students must engage in rigorous, intellectually challenging work and make more growth during their high school years.

 

Requires:

·       Clear goals: Raising sights, narrowing purpose and focusing their energies

·       Curriculum: Curriculum rigor with challenging content

·       Teachers Matter: top third of teachers produced as much as six times the learning growth as the bottom third of teachers.

·       Challenging Assignments and High Expectations: Only 3 in 10 teenagers think their school is “very academically rigorous”

·       School Size Matters – smaller schools
