teachers.

break down the barriers between teaching and learning

Traditional staff
development is unable to do more than tinker at the margins of teaching.

Schools need to
be designed in a way that affords opportunities to teachers to learn from one
another.

High school teachers
identify with their discipline – departmentally focused staff development can
be more effective.
·
However,
effective schools also need whole-school, cross-disciplinary engagement.
