GLY 120 (section 003) - Introduction to Environmental Geology This course is the basic introduction to the relationships between humans and the geologic environment. Topics include the interaction of humans with the processes that work on and within the Earth as well as the materials of which it is composed. Essential information for anyone living on our planet.
Textbook: Edward A. Keller Introduction to Environmental Geology, 4th edition, Prentice Hall, 2008 (get a used copy if you can).

GLY 501 - Research Methods in Geology. Required course for graduate students in the MS Geology program. Introduction to the methodology and procedures used in developing a research project in the sciences.

UNCW - Department of Geography and Geology Field Course
Dr. David Blake runs the Department's GLY 470 Geology Field Course (6 credit hours) every summer. Students from other North Carolina schools, as well as students from other universities can attend. For further information about the UNCW 2012 Geology Field Course contact Dr. Blake .
East Carolina - UNC Geology Field Course
In addition to being one of the instructors for this 6 credit hour summer field course in geologic mapping run through the Department of Geology at East Carolina University (ECU), I also help maintain the Geology Field Course homepage for them. The 2012 geology field course will be from mid- May to mid-June 2012 and examine geologic features in New Mexico and south-central Colorado. Students from the North Carolina schools (UNC-Charlotte, Chapel Hill, East Carolina) as well as students from other universities can attend.
