DWIGHT BENNETT NEWTON (b. 1916) was a highly prolific writer of the western genre. He wrote under a number of pseudonyms. In addition, he was story content and staff writer for the television series "Wagon Train," "Death Valley Days," and "Tales of Wells Fargo." He was a founding member of the Western Writers of America.

Now, instead of resuing old stock, it appears that ACE Books reissued this volume with the same cover art as ACE F-106 (note that the Podwil signature that is easily visible in the F-series has been nearly airbrushed out in the five-digit series edition) for The Gun From Nowhere. However, they did not reuse the cover art from ACE F-106 for Justice At Spanish Flats (actually I think this cover art is from another volume and will have to check to confirm/deny my memory).

HARRY WHITTINGTON (1915 - 1989) was one of the most prolific paperback writers of the 1950's through the 1960's. He wrote in nearly every genre and had success as a screenwriter for Warner-Brothers and created the television shows "The Lawman," "The Alaskan," and "The Dakotas" in the 1960's.
