Award Presentation Speech

Hello and welcome to the Carolina Canines for Service volunteer appreciation luncheon. My name is Sarah Beth Cameron, and I am the Vice President of Operations here at CCFS. I am so thrilled that you all are here today. As you know, our appreciation luncheon is held annually to honor our large number of amazing volunteers. You are here today because we are grateful for your involvement - Without your time and dedication to Carolina Canines, our efforts would not be possible.

For the past 10 years, Carolina Canines for Service has worked in and around the Wilmington area. Our efforts have been greatly rewarded based on the large number of people who have benefited from our venture. Our volunteers and puppy foster families work to provide specially trained service dogs to assist individuals with disabilities. Placing these service animals in homes helps to greatly improve the lives of individuals who may have limited independence due to an illness or disability. Carolina Canines operates solely through fundraising, grants, and charitable donations - none of our work would be possible without the help and generosity of volunteers like you.

This year we had so many eligible volunteers, but this person stands out above all others, and I am very happy to presenting this award today. I could go on and on about the achievements of this year’s winner – she has put countless dollars and hours into the efforts of our organization. She has been involved in numerous fundraising activities over the past year. Most notably, she was the forefront leader in organizing our 6th annual “Bruce Cavenaugh Charity Raffle” – with her help we were able to raise over $73,000! She also spearheaded our most recent expansion project, helping to start a new Foster Puppy Parent Program in the Myrtle Beach area. Her love for animals and our organization is unparalleled. We are eternally grateful for all the contributions that she has made to Carolina Canines, and I am thrilled to present this plaque and the “Volunteer of the Year” award to Mrs. Rebecca Fisher.
