Motivational Speech

Good Morning!

I hope you all are doing well on this Monday morning! Let’s make this as short and to the point as we can so we can start the day of events for the winter local games for the public schools.

I am aware as the seasons of sports progress through the year we tend to become overwhelmed with problems with coaches and other delegations during the competitions, but we have got to push those to the side and stay motivated. I am not trying to be down on you all because the job in which you are doing is great, but the positive energy has been slacking and as SONC we thrive on is positivity.  Even though as volunteers you do not hear the comments from the athletes you have a huge impact on them.  This organization thrives on the athletes feeling as they are a part of something that is worthwhile, and the positive attitudes in which you show are what makes you important to them and makes them feel as if you are part of their family.  Many of these athletes do not have a positive home based family and you as volunteers are the ones who are making the largest impact on their lives in many ways.  As volunteers of this organization in NHC you are role models to the athletes and with that being said having the positive attitude to each activity and day in which you are around them is an aspect that is required.  It’s not the attitude of the game; it’s the game of the attitude…positivity.

As a previous volunteer not at all am I downing the job in which you are doing, as a whole you all are doing a swell job and it’s easy to be over occupied with thoughts of how to fix issues, replace problems and so on. Let’s stay on task and do what we came in this organization to do and that is to make this experience as a memory not a job for you as volunteers.  Have fun in each endeavor and make each competition better than the one before.  There is always room for growth and this is the time to grow as we start the winter local games, and then it’s on the state games in February.

Now let the games begin and keep that smile on your face, do not let anything bring you down.
