Speech:
Defenders
of Wildlife
Good
evening. Thank you all for being here
and meeting on such short notice. First
off, I would like to personally thank the ones who have been doing their parts
in our volunteer project. Building a
barrier for the protection of the jaguars is not an easy task and is greatly
appreciated. However, out of the forty
three of you who signed up for this project, only about fifteen of you have
been consistently dedicated over the past month.
I would like to remind you that all help is appreciated
and we value every participant who is willing to assist. I understand this is volunteer work and this
is not the only responsibility you have in your life. With that being said, we made it very clear
in our orientation speech that we want hard-working, dedicated individuals who
want to make a difference. Being on
time, meeting deadlines, and letting us know when you will not be able to make
it are all things which have already been stressed and are expected from each
and every one of you.
Although we have made some progress on the jaguar
barrier, we are still behind schedule.
Our goal is to double the participation of last month. Because this is a volunteer job and we cannot
pay you, I will make a deal with you. By
the end of this month of March, if we are back on schedule, and have at least
thirty volunteers at each meeting throughout the month, building and helping
out at the jaguar barrier, Toni’s pizza will deliver twenty pizzas at every
meeting in April.
We are all these jaguars have, and if we step it up we
can change their lives and generations to come.
So let’s get it together and make a difference. Each and every one of you just being tells me
you have got what it takes and really do care.
I expect the best out of all of you.
Let’s make this next month count so you can hopefully be sick of pizza
by the end of April. Thank you for your
time, and I am looking forward to seeing you next Saturday. Have a good night.
