Motivational Spech
Hello and good afternoon. Thank you all for attending and for being a valuable part of the YMCA family each day. As all of you know, our founder George Williams started this organization based on the three principles of a healthy spirit, a healthy mind and a healthy body. He devoted his life to the community and to helping each YMCA achieve these goals. Although I do not expect each one you to be like George Williams, I still want to make sure that you are staying focused on the goal.
This has been a tough year for everybody and that is why we need to give our best effort each day. Over the past year, we have less people join our YMCA than any other year and there is a 15 percent drop in the number of membership renewals. This can be due to a variety of factors, but we need to make sure that our work ethic is second to none. People have come to YMCAs for hundreds of years to be healthy and to have fun in the process. It is our job to make sure that each person who works through our doors has an enjoyable experience.
The YMCA is appreciative of everything our employees and volunteers do, but we need to stay focused on our members. It is our responsibility to ensure their satisfaction and that is why I have decided to offer you an incentive. If we can improve our membership renewals and registrations by 15 percent, than I will reserve The Oceanic restaurant for an evening.
Each one of you was hired because of your teamwork and your ability in group settings. To accomplish this goal, we will need to work as a team and make sure that everybody stays on task. We are only as strong as our weakest team member, but I have confidence in our ability to reach our goal. I look forward to seeing a renewed work ethic in each one you and hopefully I will be seeing you in a month at The Oceanic.
