Presentation Speech
Good afternoon and thank you all for joining me here today. My name is Gray Lambeth and I am the Special Events Coordinator at our Wilmington YMCA. As you all know, we are here to celebrate the accomplishments of one extraordinary individual who has devoted countless hours to our YMCA over the years. This year’s recipient of the lifetime achievement award has spent the past 25 years of his life, making a positive difference in our customer’s fitness level and quality of life. Before I present this well-deserving individual with this prestigious honor, I would like to take a few moments to explain the significance of the lifetime achievement award.
The lifetime achievement award is given out once a year to an individual, who displays extraordinary character and integrity while instilling our core values of a healthy spirit, mind and body into each person that they meet. A recipient must also be committed to helping children, families and individuals reach their full potential. For the past 25 years, the recipient has displayed these qualities everyday while having a positive impact on each life he has touched. The commitment and volunteer work that recipients like him exhibit, is what allows the YMCA to make a difference in the lives of our over 21,000,000 members.
The YMCA is an organization that was built to deepen positive values and build stronger bonds, but it is only because of the hard work of our employees and volunteers that we are successful. The recipient of this award has gone to extraordinary measures to help us achieve our goals while raising standards since his first day over 25 years ago. His commitment to excellence has been evident since Day 1 and we look forward to working with him for another 25 years.
Without further a due and on behalf of the YMCA, I would like to present Mr. James Rodgers with the lifetime achievement award for his years of loyalty and hard work to the YMCA.
