Presentation Speech

Hello everyone and welcome to the New Hanover Humane Society end of the year banquet. I am Christin Ingold, your President and friend, and I am very happy to be standing before you all today. We have had yet another successful year and now it is time for us to come together as an organization and reflect on what all has happened. All of you here tonight have spent countless hours dedicating yourselves to saving the lives of innocent animals. Our volunteer list is growing longer everyday and more and more animals are getting the attention they deserve. I can’t tell you how pleased I am to be part of such a committed organization and how lucky I am to work with so many great individuals. Having said that and following tradition, I think that brings me to the real reason why I am standing in front of you all this evening. Each year the board of directors meet to discuss possible candidates for the Employee of the Year Award. After narrowing down the nominees to only 2, you all voted for who you thought was the most committed to this organization and whose work made an impact on us all this year. Well, the votes are finally in and I have the great honor of presenting this years Employee of the Year Award to a very special person who has made this organization what it is today.

Nearly one year ago a young woman by the name of Mrs. Martha Raynor stepped into our office, none of us knowing that that was the day that would change all of our lives. Martha came to us as an eager volunteer and we could all see the determinated glow she had in her eyes. We all love what we do and work very hard, but never before had we seen a woman so passionate and caring about her job day in and day out. After being a frequent volunteer with us, we all realized that Martha was someone we needed to have in our lives on a daily basis, so we offered her a job permantly and since then the success of this organization has been overwhelming.

In one short year Martha has moved from volunteer to our Shelter Manager changing the lives of many animals and people as well along the way. Martha has shown us what it takes to make a private organization successful and that is community involvement. Since she came to us our volunteer list has continued growing enormously because she has the dedication to go out and talk to people and the ability to help people understand how important their help is to us. We give animals a second chance at life and love from a willing family, and no one knows sells our ideas and goals to the public as well as Martha.

Martha is loved and respected by not only everyone here at the humane society, but also within the Wilmington community. Here work here has helped this organization sky rocket and I know it will only continue to get better as the years go on. People like Martha go very far in life and we owe her a great deal of gratitude for touching our lives the way she has. I look forward to many great days with her in the future. Now, with no further delay, I would like to ask you all to join me in a round of applause for Martha. Martha please come forward so I may present to you the Employee of the Year Award. No one else deserves it better than you!
