Motivational
Speech – RTI International Interns
Good
evening ladies and gentlemen, and thanking for coming to this meeting this
evening. I know it was last minute, but
I really do appreciate you all being here.
I have called this meeting because some of your mentors have contacted
me with concerns they have about your performance so far this summer.
As
you all know, I am the head of interns here at RTI. In being the head of interns, I want you all
to know that your decision to become a part of RTI this summer is greatly
appreciated. You each contribute so
much to our organization. You each
strengthen our organization. You each
support our organization fully. I
know that each and every one of you is fully capable of doing great things,
which is why you were each handpicked to become interns here at RTI. I can safely say that all of us here at RTI
truly do appreciate you all choosing to become a part of RTI International’s
workforce.
With
that being said, I would like to speak to you all about the concerns that were
recently communicated to me by your mentors.
As we spoke to you all in orientation, we stressed the importance of
completing your tasks to the best of your ability. We stressed the importance of putting your
talents to work. And we stressed the
importance of completing the tasks asked of you with your utmost
capability. From what your mentors
have expressed to me, they feel as if you all are not putting forth your best
possible efforts during your internship so far.
Your mentors have stated that they feel as though you all are not putting
100% into your internships here. I know
that many of you are taking online summer classes on the side of your
internships, but I also know that you all have a vast amount of ability to do
anything you set your mind to with great success. You all have this capability or you would not
be here right now.
Your
mentors did not come to me to complain about your work so far. They came to me to express their concerns
about your effort so far because, along with me, they all know your immense
capabilities as well. We all here at RTI
want to see each and every one of you succeed in life. We want you to put in an effort of 150% in
everything you do here at RTI, and learn as much as possible about yourself,
and about what you would like to achieve in your life. The work you do here not only will affect
your career path in the future, but it also affects the daily lives of your
mentors. You are a part of their daily
work now, and the effort that you put into the things they ask you to do
directly affect their work as well.
Neither
I nor your mentors are trying to make you feel as if you aren’t doing a good
job here at RTI, and we aren’t trying to worry you either. I brought you all here today to encourage you
all to do the work we all know you are capable of doing. I know that this is an unpaid internship and
that you often work long, strenuous hours, however I also know that each and
every one of you is a strong, skilled, and talented individual capable of
anything you set your minds to. I have
confidence that after this meeting you will each take into consideration what I
have talked about with you, and how your mentors are feeling. Just remember how valuable each of you is to
our organization, and how much we appreciate your contributions and
involvement.
