Motivational Speech

Good morning volunteers and thank you for attending this important meeting.  I’d like to start with a quote from Arthur C. Clarke.  He said “The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.”  The Humane Society has a few simple goals as an organization and that is to offer shelter, protection, and an opportunity for adoption for cats and dogs in the surrounding area.  We may not be able to save every dog and cat in the area but we must do our best at all times.

We’ve been having some trouble with volunteers not showing up on time or at all.  Also, we’ve been receiving less in donations.  The time and effort you put into this organization is what allows us to continue to operate.  Each one of you makes up the engine that keeps this organization going.  Your help is invaluable to this community.

Here at the Humane Society we are always looking to the future and with your help we strive to make more of a difference in the community each day.  Our goal is to expand and be able to reach and help more animals in the community and beyond.  The more volunteers we attain the better our chances of expanding.  Donations have been dropping and we need your help in making our organization known to the community.  We feel that if our organization can catch fire and grow the donations and funds will come.

We’ve come up with a few ideas to spread some information.  Each of you will be given brochures and information to spread throughout the community.  You will be rewarded for each company that donates.  We will also start a volunteer of the month award program.  Attendance will be recognized and we encourage everyone to do their part.

The concept is simple.  As an organization we want to help the animals in our community and grow more each day.  Each one of you makes a difference everyday you volunteer.  Our organization couldn’t function without your efforts.  I challenge each one of you to do your best and make our organization great.  Every minute of your volunteer time may not seem important to you but it means the world to others.  As an organization we must strive for greater things.  I end with a quote by Samuel Johnson, “Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.”  Thank you for attending and have a wonderful day.
