Meredith Brooks
Presentation Speech
January 25 2010
Rohler
Good evening, everyone. My name is Meredith Brooks and I am delighted
to be here today. With this busy donor
year coming to an end here at the Red Cross, I would like to thank each one of your
for all your help. Each of you did your
part. However, there were few that stood
out more than others and I am here today to present the award of Employee of
the Year to one of those people.
It is not easy working here at the
Red Cross, but I am thankful to say we have many people that work very hard to
make this mission a success. From the
unpaid interns to the CEO’s of this company, everyone works very hard. I can honestly say that everyone that works
here at the Red Cross really does care.
It is important for us to get our jobs done, so that people can live
longer and healthier lives. We do
everything here from getting donors to come out and give blood, we actually
take the blood, we transport the blood, and we make sure it gets to the people
who need it most. Everyone here cares
about that, and I am very happy to be able to say that.
I am here today for one person. One person that consistently proved not only
their worth to this company, but also they showed me how much the Red Cross
meant to them. When you see someone that
cares so much about our mission and what we stand for, it’s hard to not stop
and think about that. This person really
has our mission in their mind and in their heart, and you can’t help but see it
and feel it when you are around them.
Everyone has their different jobs
and tasks here at the Red Cross, but this person went above and beyond the
minimum. At 5 o’clock everyday when
people are racing out the doors, this person is here, pushing in chairs and
making sure there is absolutely nothing else left to be done. I think he actually goes out of his way to
find some work here!
It’s refreshing to work with this
type of person. This award goes to
someone who went above and beyond what I ever expected from them this
year. Their heart and drive was
unprecedented. It is with my highest
honor to present this plaque of Employee of the Year, to none other than Bob
Segur, our Employee of the Year. Bob,
you have given your all this year and I can do none other than thank you and assure
you that your hard work did not go unnoticed.
Thank you, Bob, and thank you everyone, have a great evening.
