Tribute Speech
Good evening everyone, my name is Mark Brady and I am the
best man here honoring Travis at his wedding with his beautiful wife. When Travis first asked me to be the best man
for his wedding I said “of course.” But
after a while I began to think; I am going to have the toughest time making a
speech because there is nothing good to say about him.
Travis and I have known each other since freshman year in
high school. I have seen him somewhat
mature since then. We went to the same college and I have lived with him for
too long. I fear what Kelly will have to
go through for the next 50 years. Travis was more than a friend to me, he was
more like family. We were like brothers always steering the other one out of
harm’s way and trouble, makings sure to follow a safer path. Except in Mexico, man what a trip.
I remember the day Travis found his bride to be. He came in one day after school, it was the
first day he had that class and he sat down and said “I just met the most
incredible girl.” I started to laugh and
shrugged it off. Then she moved into our
apartment complex and they started to see each other. Before I knew it I was with Travis at
Tiffany’s sitting in a chair for an hour and a half so he could find the
perfect ring for her. I have never seen
Travis so happy in his life. I knew
Travis meant business because he treated her like a princess, a goddess, like
she was the one and only girl in this world.
I can only hope that I one day find a true and meaningful love like that
one day.
Now I have known Travis for a long time and he has always
taken care of me and looked out for me in my best interest. I know that he will do the same for Nikki. A good husband is someone who protects, a good
husband is someone is someone provides. A good husband is someone who puts
their wife first. (Anaphora) This is why I know Travis will make a great
husband. He will put you first and the
only thing on his to do list is make you happy every day. I know that because you already do that for
him just being with him. In the words of David Levesque- you know you’re in love when you see the world in her
eyes, and her eyes everywhere in the world.
(Antitheis) This is
why I know Travis is absolutely 100% in love with you, Kelly.
I would like us all to raise our glasses in honor of Mr.
and Mrs. Travis Parrott and my they live happily and healthy for many years to
come. Love makes time pass, and time makes love pass. (Chiasmus) To the
bride and groom; Thank you, we wish you all the best, and congratulations to
finding true love.
