Interests
My scholarship, like my teaching, is rooted in a desire to prepare educational leaders to create school environments that provide equitable educational opportunities for, and to meet the needs of all students. My inquiries make use of qualitative methodologies to explore the perspectives and experiences of individuals grappling with the challenges of practice in an era of high stakes, standards-based accountability, and in a global environment. The three primary strands of inquiry that frame my research are: (a) moral and ethical implications of educational policy implementation; (b) efforts to create effective educational environments that are responsive to traditionally underrepresented or marginalized students; and (c) the preparation of prospective school leaders.
