Exam 2 Information: Bivariate Analyses

Bring paper, a calculator, and pencils with erasers. 

It will cover all material from the last exam up through 3/23:  crosstabs, means tests, and correlations.

It will not involve any SPSS use.  You will need to interpret SPSS output.

It will include 5 questions. 2 crosstabs (one by hand, one with chi-square and p provided), 2 means tests (one by hand, one with t and p provided), and one correlation (r, t and p provided). These five questions will require you to:

• choose appropriate analysis (based on level of measurement of variables)
• write hypotheses
• conduct tests (2 by hand, 3 using computer output)
• decide whether to reject or accept null hypothesis
• interpret findings

I will provide the formulas on the exam and the t and f distributions.  You can bring in your Bivariate Analysis Chart.

The last two true/false questions do not have wrong answers.  (4 free points).
