For the Southern States Communication Annual Convention, she served as program planner and elected chair for intercultural communication, popular communication, & mass communication divisions - Southern States Communication Annual Convention (1992-1997). Also, she served as Chair for the Constitutional Committee and on the Executive Council (1993-95 & 1997-98).

In addition to membership in academic professional societies, she is a member of The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF).
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Dr. Noor Al-Deen lives with her husband and two precious dogs. Her oldest and most beloved dog (Yorkshire Terrier) passed away in November 2007 at age 17.
