The safety of computers

Topic Summary

Most people rarely give a thought to the safety of the computers that they use every day of their lives. Personal computer users may think about the consequences of a computer failure, and the potential loss of data. When computers are used indirectly, as in banking, medical procedures, or air travel, it is unlikely that people recognize how critical the proper operation of a computer is to their safety. This lesson examines the risks posed by the use of computers in many aspects of our lives.
